Clouds

Aug 23, 2025

Do you remember your childhood when you were lying on the grass, looking up to the sky and watching the clouds?

You interpreted the shapes to be fairy creatures, animals, faces and whatever came up.

You let your imagination wander and follow the clouds as they either slowly or rapidly moved across the blue sky, forever changing shapes.

As you tuned into the slow pace of nature, above you and around you, you felt at peace, relaxed and carefree.

The years passed. You grew up, became an adult, built a career, maybe became a parent. Life became busy, demanding, imposing on you many pressures. You experienced love and loss. Joy and sadness. The years passed.

And throughout your life you often found yourself at crossroads, not knowing which way to turn, doubting yourself, loosing your self-confidence, suffering with stress, feeling the pressures of society to conform to what was expected from you.

And here you are ….. Remembering those childhood experiences, that were simple, easy and full of joy. Nothing complicated, nobody demanding anything from you as you were lying there in the soft grass, supported by the warm earth beneath you.

I invite you to rediscover those moments. Moments of peace, of being at one with nature, feeling safe. Nature never asks anything from you, does not judge you, invites you in without questioning, accepts you for who you are.

I wonder what it would be like to wander among clouds, to change their direction, to move the big black ones away? Sending those dark angry ones to another place where they burst into rain to lose their rage inside them. This makes space for the light wispy ones that may drift gently to happy destinations you dream of.

So, when life becomes overwhelming, why not find yourself a little place of solitude where you can feel safe and relaxed, stretch out again on the grass and look up at the sky. Notice how your breathing becomes softer and the tension in your muscles eases. Focus on the clouds in the sky and let your imagination wander freely and trust that all will be well, all is being taken care of.

Clouds are like your thoughts.

They came and they go.

ACCEPT they are what they are.

OBSERVE them for a while.

Then LET GO of them to allow for better ones to come along.
